Step inside a botanical labyrinth comprised of around one-thousand plant specimens, including many utilised around the world for their medicinal properties. There are around 400,000 plants around the world, of which around a tenth have been used for centuries for medicinal purposes. We seek to spotlight the valuable, albeit fragile historical heritage of medicinal plants, including their role in the context of urban design. The name of the installation honours the 1801 discovery of the largest water lily in the world, namely the Victoria Amazonica, by Czech botanist Tadeáš Haenke, one of the first scientists to catalogue the exotic flora of Latin America.
